My interest was sparked the day my dad brought home this massive clunker of
an SLR. As a kid, it was a monstrous thing looking at me. Big, black and
one-eyed and yet, I thought, it was in it's on way, beautiful. I loved it. I
felt an intense need to grab hold of it every chance I had and take pictures
of the most mundane, insignificant things around the house. However my
interest waned a little as I grew up and only rekindled about 2 years ago. I
started out with a tiny camera phone, worked on mostly monochrome photos to
make up for it's lacking image sensor. Now I'm starting to really get into
it, I saved and saved and begged and now I have my own DSLR. My own
beautiful beast.
Photography is the only way I know how to express myself on any kind of
artistic level. I've always been drawn to photographs, ever since I was a
kid. There's something spiritual about them for me. They capture the essence
of life. A single moment, frozen in time like no other medium can. It's as
if one could reach out towards the sea and pluck out a single drop of water.
Photographs are life in motion, only that we've paused for a second.
